What my kitchen learned this week

What my kitchen learned this week

Random things we have recently learned for our kitchen thanks to the Internet:

  • When should we add sprinkles on cookies – before or after baking?
Cookies are perfect candidates for pre-bake sprinkling.  Make sure those sprinkles stay!  Add them to your rolled out or spooned out dough to make it a little easier for you.  (eHow)
  • How do you make vegan condensed milk?
There are loads of recipes that call for condensed milk, but sometimes you just really don’t want to substitute regular nut milk for it.  You can get all DIY and make your own, however, at very little cost and with 3 – 4 ingredients no less.  (Suite101)
  • What should my Fall go-to vegan bread recipe be?
This ‘Super Vegan Bread’ looks promising – it has beer in it.  Enough said.  I still really want The Joy of Vegan Baking to help me conquer my apparent fear of ovens and such.

What can you teach us?

  1. Definitely get the Joy of Vegan Baking. It is a fantastic resource and the recipes are well written. I helped me conquer my fear of vegan baking, so your fear of ovens should be no problem :-)
